Shalford Smashed!!! 28/08/2011
Essex Police 6 - 2 CFC Shalford 'A'
Essex Police completed their pre season warm ups with a convincing win over newly formed Cfc Shalford 'A'. A pretty easy run out for the Essex Police lads who saw debuts from Dean Perry, Ben Rayner, John Blatchford and Stephen Gunshon. Shalford took an early lead only to go in at half time 3-1 down. Shalford manager Darren Pitt should have been shown red in the 30th minute having been out paced by Striker Aaron Heard who was through on goal only to be chopped down. First half completely dictated by new signing Dean Perry who managed to get on the score sheet. Second half started much as the first ended with Essex Police dominating. This match saw the return of last seasons top goalscorer Colin Bishop, this time however he was completely snuffed out by Captain Alex Crawford and on the losing side, having failed to even hit the target. An excellent match by the Essex Lads and we wish Shalford 'A' all the best for their debut season.
